Deanna has always loved to dance. She began at a very young age with choreographing mini routines in her living room, using the furniture as props, and making up ridiculous costumes. It wasn't until 8th grade that Deanna officially started taking dance classes, and performing. She instantly fell in love with Jazz and Modern (the two classes that she was taking at the time). She had always been a gymnast, but dance offered a sense of emotional expression that Deanna was lacking in her life. She continued dancing in various degrees ever since, experimenting with Afro-Brazilian, Contemporary, Ballet, and even Balinesian. This passion led Deanna to a job teaching, and choreographing for a performance based gymnastics company. During this time, Deanna had an amazing opportunity to work with two former cirque stars in partnering and aerial arts.
Last year, Deanna moved to Michigan with her husband and daughter for her husband to pursue his PhD. Deanna is very excited to get to know the dance community here in Chelsea, and looks forward to continue to grow and expand herself through dance.
